Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors of recent times. Her strong and vulnerable performances have earned her a cult brand. She was raised by a single, unmarried mother who worked as a nurse. Linney became interested with theatre in summers spent with her father, who was famous. She was a student of acting in Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. When she graduated from Brown University she started making her Broadway debut soon afterward. After two years of the time, her debut film came out and the next year she made her television debut. Innumerable appearances in films, and television and stage shows since. She has been nominated for three Academy Awards, five Tony Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and received several awards during her professional career.
