Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 points in an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci at the age of six. She first competed at the national junior championships in Romania in 1969, she was 13th. Then in the year 1970, she was crowned champion. In her very first international event in 1972 she came out on top by winning three gold awards. In 1975, she won four golds and one silver medal in her debut senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She was the first female ever to perform a backwards double salto while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment business by performing in the form of a figure skater. Together with her sister Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the entertainment industry in her teens. She began her professional career by performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment show Ice Capades. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
